Cookie Policy

What this site stores in your browser, what each item is for, how long it lasts, and how to change your choice at any time.

01

How we ask

We ask before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. Those tags are off until you choose to accept them, and none of them loads while the banner is still waiting for an answer. The chat window, the language menu and the spam check on our forms are different: each comes from its provider, and only when you use it, as described below.

Some of what we store is not technically a cookie but local storage or session storage in your browser. We list it here anyway, because what matters to you is what is kept on your device, not the mechanism.

The map on the Contact page (Google Maps) comes from its provider when you open that page. The language menu (Google Translate), the spam check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) and the chat load only when you use them: Google Translate when you open the language list, or at once if you have already chosen a language; Turnstile when you first touch a form; the chat when you pick a desk in it. Each is served under its provider’s own terms.

02

Strictly necessary

orkay-consent-v2 — local storage, not a cookie. Records your cookie choice and the time you made it, so we do not ask again on every page. Persists until you clear your browser storage or change the choice. This one cannot be switched off, because it is the record of your decision.

orkay_pop_<id> — session storage, not a cookie, and only on a page that shows a popup. Notes that you have seen that popup, so it is not shown again during this visit. It is deleted when you close the tab.

googtrans — a cookie set only if you pick a language from the language menu, so the pages stay in that language. Choosing English again removes it.

03

Analytics — off unless you accept

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to 24 months, and reports to us in aggregate.

If we switch them on, the same choice also loads Google Tag Manager, the Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. Each sets its own cookies, as its provider documents. Only the tags we have switched on load.

orkay_src — a cookie set only if you accept. Records the first page of your visit and how you reached us (the campaign tags in the address, a Google Ads click ID and the referring site), so an enquiry you send within 30 days says where you came from.

orkay_pop_<id> — once you accept, a popup you have seen is also noted in a cookie, for your visit or, for a popup shown only once, for a year.

If you decline, no analytics cookie is set and no analytics script is loaded at all — not merely blocked from reporting. If you withdraw an earlier acceptance, orkay_src and the orkay_pop_<id> cookies are removed.

04

Chat — loaded only when you open it

The chat window is provided by LeadConnector (part of GoHighLevel). It does not load with a page: it loads only when you press the chat button and pick a desk, whether or not you have answered the banner. Once it has loaded, it keeps items in your browser’s local storage (names beginning v2_history_, v2_session_history_, v3_first_session_event_ and v2_contact_session_) recording the page you are on, how you reached it and a chat session ID, and items in session storage (its wording, and request tokens). Its provider’s security service sets a short-lived __cf_bm cookie on the provider’s own domains.

If you start a conversation, the provider may store more, under its own terms.

05

Staff sign-in

__Host-orkay-admin (orkay-admin on a local test copy) and orkay-admin-ui are set only when a member of Orkay staff signs in to the content management system. They expire after 12 hours, or sooner when the session ends. orkay-admin-theme remembers a staff member’s light or dark screen for a year. If you are a visitor, they are never set for you.

06

Changing your choice

Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page to accept or reject analytics at any time. Clearing your browser storage also resets the choice and we will ask again on your next visit.

You can additionally block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may stop parts of the site working as intended.
